During the Youth tournament which took place in Gradignan on Sunday, November 21, 2021, 73 young people from 8 different clubs competed in 5 categories.

The Yvon Mau squash club has entered 8 young players: Audrey Combefreyroux, Sacha Dubief, Ethan Mazière, Timéo and Mathis Garcia, Pierre Vandroy, Gabrielle and Xavier Montero. It should be noted that the first 6 and youngest players started playing squash this year.

Everyone played between three and four matches and won at least one. The best performance was by Audrey, who only lost in the final of her bracket (silver medal in the photo). The second best performance was by Pierre, who finished 5th in his bracket, winning three out of four matches. The Montero sisters, always faithful to these events, finished 4th out of 12 for Gabrielle (winning one out of three matches) and 5th out of 12 for Xavier (winning two out of three matches). Sacha finished 9th out of 12, still managing to win two out of three matches. The others showed great determination. Everyone had fun.

The Yvon Mau squash club covered the registration fee (€10) for the 8 players. The Gironde Squash Committee provided meals for all the Gironde residents who participated in the tournament.

Thanks to the Communauté des Communes du Réolais en Sud-Gironde for lending us the minibus which was used to transport the children.

The next meeting will still be in Gradignan on January 15, 2022.
